Girls' Night Out!

Yummy Food + Good Conversation + Great Friends =
An Amazing Night Out With the Girls!

My fellow 'Smalliverites', Brenda & Sonya, aned I ventured out of town for a night of good food and girl chat. Food was provided by the Diamond Steak House and as for the chat...a girl never tells;)

The night went off so well that we have decided that this will have to be a regular occurence. So we have already made plans for dinner & a movie for our next adventure. Thanks for the great idea, Brenda! And thanks for such a great night ladies! Can't wait for our next night out!

Weekend in the 'Big City'

We got out of Smalliver for the weekend to visit with family and take in a little 'Big City' action. Scott was working this weekend with Billy Talent at the Virgin Music Festival so I decided to tag along for the trip and get out of the valley.

The weather this Victoria Day weekend was a lot drier at home than on the coast. But we weren't there for the weather, or at least I wasn't, Scott on the other hand had an outdoor concert venue to contend with and didn't appreciate the rain so much.

We went for dinner at a great Malaysian restaurant just up the street from our hotel. Our favourite dishes; Mee Goreng and Sambal Green Beans, so yummy!
My sister, Joy and I got in a little shopping between the raindrops and we stopped at our favourite sweets bakery on Broadway for some delish cupcakes. You have got to stop by one of their locations if you are every in the Kitsilano or English Bay area. Check out the different confections they create! Just the names alone make your mouth water.
It was a great weekend overall with shopping, eating and some good family time.

A Day to Celebrate Moms

Today was spent celebrating moms and remembering why we are all here. To love those who first loved us from the moment they first saw us...our mothers.

I started the day with a call to my mom to tell her how much I love her and to wish her a great mother's day lunch with my sister and her family. Then it was off to brunch with my husband's family and the little ones at a local golf course. It was good food and even better company. After brunch it was time to visit with the moms who couldn't be with us but still need to be remembered. We went to the cemetary to place flowers on Scott's grandmothers' gravesites and appreciate the women from which we came.
Happy Mother's Day to All
Past, Present and Future...

Scott is a 'Master' EMR

I am very proud of Scott as he has just completed an intense three week course at the Justice Institute. He is now certified as an Emergency Medical Responder. It was three weeks of practical tests, including some homework on me in the evenings, and lots of studying at night. He passed his written exam with 95% and achieved 'Mastery' levels on all his practical exam. Congratulations Scott! You earned it!
