Lightening Lake Camping

Cold Cold Cold
And that was just the first day/night of camping in Manning Park. Thank you to Papa Paul for the use of his propane fireplace! Kept us toasty when the sun disappeared.
But I must admit that the campsite and lake were simply beautiful and so peaceful.
We planned on staying three nights in E.C.Manning Park with Aunty Joy & Uncle Scott but settled for two chilly overnights. I am not exagerating when I claim it was cold... there was actually ice on the picnic tables from the morning dew when we woke after the first night. Really!!!
JMan & Daddy even went fishing & he caught his very first trout (only one that weekend). I think we were more excited than he was when he was reeling it in.
But Jackson did not notice the cold one bit. He loved every minute of chasing squirrels & chipmunks, jumping off logs & stumps, playing frisbee with Mom & Dad and just the novelty of sleeping in a tent outside. He made the cold not so bad and all worth it.

Fruits of the Summer

I love that we live in a region that has so many delicious summer fruits available to us all season.
From the cherries and apricots to the strawberries, melons, plums and apples. We are truly blessed with the bountiful abundance of fruit.

And I am so happy that Jackson loves fruit as does the rest of the family. How can you not when it's all around us in the beautiful sunny southern Okanagan.

Taking the Morning Train

I love Jackson's imagination and pretend play.
The other morning I went into the front room and found this...

These moments are fleeting and too precious not to capture forever.

Sunshine of Fun!

It's the annual Smalliver Sunshine Festival...
There was a parade, a water fight, live music, mudslide tug o'war and lots of money being raised for the Mudslide Relief Fund. Last count was over $11,000.00. Way to give Smalliver!
Here are some highlights from this great day.

Creative Uncles Are the Best!

Uncle Scott can do amazing things for a Cars Fanatic!
I went for a little Mommy & Aunty Joy shopping and came home to a 'new car' for Jackson.
Seriously, Uncle Scott is super cool.

Did you notice it even has windshield wipers and a key complete with ignition slot?
Jackson loved it soooo much!

Thanks for another amazing visit.

Confederation Park Fun!

A great way to spend an afternoon on the coast with a kid crazy for choo choos.
Joy told us about this great park that has mini model trains that you ride in a beautiful garden wooded setting.

So we packed up a picnic lunch and headed for an afternoon outside.
And we are so glad the weather held out enough for us to enjoy this great little adventure.

Uncle Scott & Jackson even had enough time to get a little play action in on the huge playground across the way.
Thanks for another great day Aunty Joy & Uncle Scott.

Lilith Fair

Great way to celebrate Canada Day!

Went to Lilith Fair in West Vancouver to see some super duper girlies rock out.

Loved the outdoor festival.

Sooooo much fun.

Thanks for sharing memories and an awesome time, ladies...
